GetVision – System for automatic technical inspection of wind and solar farms
Client: Startup creating an innovative solution to reduce the cost of inspection of wind and solar farms by more than 70%.
Description: The client who came to us had only an idea supported by a market analysis. Our task was to design the system from scratch and create a prototype. This prototype had to be used to find investors for the project.
Needs: Designing the algorithm according to which the automatic inspection will be carried out. Technology selection. System design. Prototyping, product workshops. Comparison of “ready-made” image analysis technologies with the help of artificial intelligence and dedicated solutions. Implementation of the application on the environment allowing to make presentations at one of the largest Polish RES conferences.
Solution:
- We tested Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and Python technologies with the KERAS framework.
- We created a working prototype of an artificial intelligence model training tool using Python.
- We created working prototypes for solutions available on Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud.
- We chose the Microsoft solution for the first system version, which does not include video analysis.
- We designed a cloud architecture based on Azure.
- Thanks to our efforts, we got Microsoft’s patronage for the project. Microsoft funded the marketing and part of the project’s development.
- We obtained approval from Microsoft architects for the Azure architecture we designed.
- The first working version of the product was created only two months after the completion of the analysis phase. In this situation, the cut-off date was the RES conference, so the pace of development and staff resources were adjusted to the deadline, not the other way around.
- Today, we are successfully developing the solution further, with the Polish Energy Group as the main client.
